This September, Studio Dapur took part in EMERGE @ FIND – Design Fair Asia in Singapore — a platform curated by Supermama that celebrates emerging Asian designers and makers through stories of material, culture, and connection.
Our Penjor Lamp was featured in their curated setting space, while a selection of our woven bamboo trays and baskets were displayed in the EMERGE mini store, alongside works from talented designers across Asia.
Why It Matter
For us, being part of EMERGE was more than a showcase — it was an opportunity to let bamboo craftsmanship from West Java speak in a broader design conversation.
People stopped, touched, and asked about the story behind each piece — how it’s made, where it comes from, and who the artisans are.
Those moments reminded us why we do what we do: to connect culture, craft, and care in ways that feel simple yet meaningful.
What We Took Home
• A reminder that craft can speak quietly yet leave a strong impression.
• That collaboration and shared values matter more than spotlight.
• And that sustainable materials like bamboo still have many stories to tell — across borders and generations.
We returned home with gratitude — for the curators who believed in our work, the artisans who keep weaving, and everyone who paused long enough to see the beauty in something handmade.
From Singaparna to Singapore, our bamboo found its voice soft, steady, and full of hope.
